Astrid Rivera

Astrid Rivera is a bilingual journalist and content creator covering high-profile cases, lifestyle, and entertainment news. She is a weekly contributor and reporter for Univision’s number one nationally rated morning show “Despierta America.”

For the show, she interviews renowned celebrities such as Vin Diesel, Ricky Martin and Dwayne Johnson, among many artists and musicians, to create human-centered stories that closely connect with so many viewers.

She is also the creator of “El Mujeron de la Semana,” a segment featuring stories about women changing the world and making paths for other women.

Astrid is an Army veteran who served for 8 years and was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kuwait and Operation Brightstar in Egypt. She holds an M.A. in Journalism from Florida International University and is the proud mother of three children.
