Melanie Herrera is a junior at Florida International University pursuing a B.S. in Public Relations, Advertising and Applied Communications with a concentration in Communication Arts. She is passionate about entertainment and media, with a particular interest in music, artist branding, storytelling and public relations.

Through internships and hands-on experiences with agencies and entertainment-focused organizations, Melanie has gained experience in media relations, social media strategy, research, content development and event coordination. She has worked with clients and artists across music, hospitality and lifestyle, strengthening her understanding of how strategic communication can shape a brand’s story and connect with audiences.

As a first-generation college student, Melanie is committed to building a career in communications while creating opportunities for herself and others in the industry. She is honored to receive the Roshana Gossoff Memorial Scholarship and grateful to HPRA for supporting the next generation of Hispanic communications professionals.
